Apprenticeships
Since we began trading Illustrious has offered the chance for local workers to gain valuable experience within the construction industry as well as develop a trade. Through our Apprenticeship program we offer people from the communities an opportunity to develop their skills within the area they live in. Health & Safety
For year Illustrious Homes as taken the view that our health and safety policy has to be a complete and rounded strategy which is engrained in the company’s culture from top to bottom. We have always taken the safety of our workers, clients and general public very seriously and have implemented a Health & Safety which surpasses the legislative requirements and is equal to those of companies much larger than ours.
We continually monitor the safety of all sites with our dedicated Health and safety officer making frequent and surprise visits to inspect sites. We also have an independent Health and safety organisation who regularly reviews our Health and safety systems. Please find below an extract from our latest health and safety independent evaluation

Urban Partnership Program
Illustrious homes is in the process of developing a revolutionarily Urban Partnership Program (UPP) which will enable Illustrious working in partnership with local authorities to maximise budgets and still maintain a high level of social housing. In the austere financial times ahead of us many local authorities are facing severe budget cuts, this coupled with increased demand for good quality social housing presents a very difficult proposition; essentially, ‘How do they provide more with less?’
Working in partnership with local authorities Illustrious Homes will maintain and renovate all necessary social housing whilst making more apprenticeships available for the local community. This program enables the council to maintain housing to a high standard whilst simultaneously offering opportunities for the local community to help maintain their local neighbourhood whilst gaining new skills.
This revolutionary program will be up a running in several pilot boroughs in 2011.
